At the 35 th annual induction ceremony for
the US National Ski and Snowboard Hall
of Fame, seven people were added to an
already distinguished list of honorees in a
ritual dating back to 1954. Included in this
year’s line-up are aerialist Eric Bergoust;
Burton founders Jake Burton Carpenter
and Donna Carpenter; releasable-binding
inventor Mitch Cubberley; Olympian and
catalog retailer Tom Jacobs; resort developer
Everett Kircher; and two-time Olympian
Doug Lewis. “It is an especially historic occasion
as we welcome Jake and Donna,” says
Hall of Fame Chairman David Holli. “They’re
the fi rst representatives from snowboarding
to be added to the list.”
