NOTE FROM THE PUBLISHER
BY JEAN-MARC BLAIS
PRESIDENT AND CEO, SKI PRESS WORLD, INC.
Coming off a tough season, it’s all to easy too forget that
ours is, at heart, a fun-driven business.
This winter’s early snows helped remind us of the fun. The
crowds pouring into SIA help, too. And so does the hi-tech,
hi-style, hi-excitement gear showing up on the fl oor of the
Mandalay Bay.
If technology can wear a smile, this is the year it does.
Ski Press will be showing off the snow-white smile all season
long. We’ll be showing it in your shops, where our magazines
will be right there when customers are deciding which
skis, boots, jackets, goggles and gloves they need. We’ll
be showing it online at skipressworld.com when they’re
researching their purchases, or maybe just dreaming of
the fun to come.
We’ll even be showing
it in product previews,
including videos on our
website.
So, if we’re showing it,
and readers and viewers
are seeing it, maybe you
should be selling it. By
“it,” I mean the wild and crazy, not just the day-to-day.
Think of snow sports as an auto show. People may buy a
minivan, but they come to the show to see the concept
car. Maybe you should have the snow sport equivalent of a
concept car in your shop to entice customers this year.
And make them smile.
